EKT Sockenläufer is a parent‑child initiative in Prenzlauer Berg. As a non‑profit association we shape our day care together. Our location in Chodowieckistraße 28 offers places for around 20 children aged roughly one year until school start.
We view every child as unique and competent. Our work fosters independence, self‑confidence and the rights of children – education, participation, tolerance and respect. Parents are active partners and help shape the nursery day.
EKT Sockenläufer started in 2001 as an alternative form of care with small groups and close caregiver relationships. Our community has grown, but the goal remains: to create a loving, inclusive environment for children, parents and educators.
